Bolivia Expedition
Bolivia is the heart of the Andes. This 11-day expedition combines acclimatization at Lake Titicaca with the ascent of iconic peaks such as Pico Austria, Tarija, Pequeno Alpamayo, and the giant Huayna Potosi (6088m).
Timeline
ARRIVAL IN LA PAZ
Airport pickup and transfer to hotel (3640 masl). Personal equipment check.
LAKE TITICACA - SUN ISLAND
Travel to Copacabana and navigation to Sun Island. Acclimatization at 3850 masl.
COPACABANA - LA PAZ
Return to La Paz. Free afternoon for cable car ride and visiting El Alto.
LA PAZ - CHIARKHOTA LAGOON
Transfer to Rinconada and 3h smooth hike to base camp (4680 masl).
AUSTRIA PEAK (5350M)
Acclimatization ascent with incredible views of Cordillera Real and Occidental.
TARIJA & PEQUENO ALPAMAYO
Ascent to Tarija mountain (5370m) and then Pequeno Alpamayo (5410m).
CHIAR KHOTA - MARIA LLOCO
7-8h trek to Maria Lloco camp (4720 masl).
MARIA LLOCO - HUAYNAPOTOSI REFUGE
5-6h hike to Huayna Potosi base camp.
REFUGE - HIGH CAMP
2-3h ascent to the guides refuge at High Camp (5280 masl).
HUAYNA POTOSI SUMMIT (6088M)
Summit attack and spectacular views. Return to La Paz.
RETURN
Transfer to El Alto international airport. End of services.
